This festival is adored by everyone. People usually celebrate it either towards the end of February or at the beginning of March, and it lasts for a whole week. During this festive period, individuals bid farewell to winter and welcome the arrival of spring. In the past, people used to engage in activities such as cooking pancakes, making bonfires, burning winter scarecrows, singing songs, and dancing. The pancakes, which are circular and warm, symbolize the Sun. Nowadays, Maslenitsa is a joyful celebration where people dance, sing songs, and cook pancakes. Typically, this festival takes place in parks. The most significant part of Maslenitsa is the "burial of Maslenitsa" on the last day, portraying the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
